★ Setting Up Your Model ★

This is a tutorial on how to set up your model in VTube Studio, I have no experience using other tracking programs and cannot help you with those.

★ Importing Your Model ★

The file you recieve from me should contain everything in a folder, that folder goes in your VTube Studio Live2DModels folder.
If you are using Vtube Studio on Steam, you can get there by right clicking on VTube Studio in your Steam library, hover over manage, and click "browse local files". Then click VTube Studio_Data, StreamingAssets, Live2DModels. This is your models folder and you should have a few by default. The whole folder I sent you goes here.

★ Getting it to Track You ★

When you open VTube Studio, open the settings via the gear icon, and at the top click on the camera icon.

Make sure it's using the correct camera, and turn your camera on if it isn't on by default. (I also recommend turning on autostart cam so you don't have to do this every time you open the program)

Look at whatever you will be looking at while streaming, and click calibrate to set that as your default face position.

If the face is properly tracking you, you can close settings with the X at the top right, and open your model menu (the red person icon) and click on your model at the bottom.

This will open a menu asking if you want to run auto setup, click on the auto setup button, and your model should start tracking you.

★ Editing Your Tracking ★

Back in your settings menu, click the person with the gear icon at the top to get to your tracking settings.

For reference, XYZ typically means:
X = Left and Right
Y = Up and Down
Z = Leaning Left or Right

★ Movement Config ★

Scroll down a bit until you see "Movement Config"
This moves your model around on the screen when your body moves. (Z basically zooms your model in or out depending on how far you are from your camera).
Personally I set these as: X=5, Y=4, Z=4. I recommend starting with those numbers, and move it around until you find what you like. Move the slider to 0 if you want NO movement, and 20 or -20 for the MOST movement. Positive numbers make it move like you're looking in a mirror, negative numbers make it move the opposite way.

★ Physics Config ★

Right under "Movement Config" is your physics settings. "Use Physics" should be ON and "Legacy Physics" should be OFF. For your Physics Framerate I recommend using anything but 30fps. Try all the options out and see what you like.
The Physics Strength Slider controls the overall strength of your physics. If you set this too high, your physics might start to get really snappy. I recommend setting this anywhere from 50-70 strength.
The gear icon next to "Physics Strength" will let you control the strength of each individual physics parameter. So if you JUST wanted something like the hair to move more, you can open that menu, look for "hair x", and then turn that slider up.
Wind strength just acts as if there's wind blowing on your model. I personally keep this at 0.
Dragging physics just applies physics when you physically drag your model around the screen with your mouse.

★ Head Parameter Config ★

Under the physics settings you should see "Face Left/Right Rotation".
Look at the number on the left that changes when you move your head, and turn your head as far to the right as you think you would ever be looking while using your model. Enter the number into the box above IN, and then turn your head to the left and enter that number into the box below IN. Ideally these numbers should be close to the same number (one positive and one negative) so that the middle is 0.
This is setting your far head turn to the max of the parameter. If you don't move your head much irl this will create MORE movement for your model even when you dont move much, and if you move your head really far side to side this might prevent your model from sitting at the far head turn setting of the parameter.
Right underneath that should be "Face Up/Down Rotation", its the exact same idea but with your head moving up and down instead.
And then under that is your "Face Lean Rotation" this one is for tilting your head left and right. This one I find is typically ok with its base values but you can change it if you want.

★ Eye Parameter Config ★

Next are your "Eye Open Left" and "Eye Open Right" parameters.
If you have naturally open looking eyes you shouldn't have to change anything here. Personally my eyes are pretty heavily lidded, which I try to accommodate for in my rigging, but sometimes I still end up with a model tracking my eyes as half closed. If you are having this issue look at your in value when your eyes should be fully open, and then change the top IN value to whatever number the input is getting from you. I personally have this at .7.

★ Body Parameter Config ★

Down at the bottom (Above auto breath) are your body parameters. These track based on your head, so you can set these to the same values you set your head at.

★ Mouth Parameter Config ★

If you don't want to use your mic for mouth tracking, skip this section.

Above your body parameters you should have "Mouth Smile" and "Mouth Open". If you don't have dynamic mouth movement you can ignore "Mouth Smile"
For "Mouth Smile" click on the blue input box and change it to "VoiceFrequencyPlusMouthSmile"
and for "Mouth Open" change it to "VoiceVolumePlusMouthOpen".

Then at the top click on the regular gear icon and scroll until you see "Microphone settings".
Check that its using the correct mic and then turn on "Use Microphone".
For Volume Gain, turn it up if you speak quietly, and down if you speak loud. I leave Volume Cutoff at 0 but if you have a lot of background noise you can turn this up, just keep in mind you will have to speak louder for it to pick up your voice. For Frequency Gain I keep it at 75, this is just how sensitive it is to the different sounds you make.

★ Expressions Config ★

Lastly, the little movie icon at the top is where you edit your expressions.

To enable existing expressions, click the plus icon, and then click Hotkey Action, and Set/Unset Expression.
Then Click Expression and pick the one you want to use, and choose your key combination to activate the expression, or use a screen button hotkey.
To make your OWN expressions with existing expression parameters:
Click Expression Editor and Create new Expression. Here you can toggle specific parameters to be on or off. When you turn a parameter on here, it will give you a slider underneath it. Typically 1 means ON and 0 means OFF.
